What this site collects.
Written to describe what the code actually does, in plain terms. If something here is unclear or you want your data removed, email contact@malekabbes.com.
If you use the contact form
Your name, email address and message are sent to my inbox so I can reply. That's the whole purpose — they aren't added to a mailing list, profiled, or shared with anyone.
Your email address is set as the reply-to on the message I receive, so replying goes straight back to you.
- Stored where
- My email inbox only. There is no database on this site.
- Kept for
- As long as the conversation is useful. Ask and I'll delete it.
- Shared with
- Nobody. The mail passes through Brevo, my email provider.
If you request a website audit
Your name, email, the URL you submit and your answers to the checklist are emailed to me so I can review the site and reply.
The URL you submit is fetched once, server-side, so the page can be summarised. Only the public page content is read — the fetch refuses private and internal addresses, and nothing about the fetched page is stored.
- Sent to
- Mistral, to generate the automated review of your page.
- Stored where
- My email inbox only.
- Kept for
- As long as the conversation is useful. Ask and I'll delete it.
If you use the assistant
Your question is sent to Mistral along with the profile information this site already displays publicly, so it can answer. Conversations are not saved — closing the tab loses them, and nothing is written to disk.
Please don't type anything sensitive into it. It's a chat box on a portfolio, not a secure channel.
What is measured
Counts only: how many times each page was viewed, which sections were scrolled to, how many audits were started and finished, and which broad topics the assistant was asked about.
No cookie is set. No identifier is created or stored. Your IP address is not recorded. Because there is nothing distinguishing one reader from another, these are view counts and cannot be turned into visitor counts or linked back to you — which is also why this site has no cookie banner.
If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is measured at all.
- Stored
- A daily file of integer counters, on my own server.
- Contains
- Numbers. No text you typed, no addresses, no identifiers.
Your IP address
Your IP is used while a request is being handled, to stop one source flooding the forms and the assistant. It is held in memory, is never written to disk, and is never included in the emails I receive.
The web server in front of this site keeps standard access logs, as essentially every web server does. Those are for security and debugging and are not used to build any profile of you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what I hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion. Email me and I'll action it — in practice this means searching my inbox for your messages and deleting them.
There is no account to close and no marketing list to leave, because neither exists.
This is a personal portfolio, not a company, and this page is a factual description rather than legal advice. If you need a formally reviewed policy for a commercial arrangement, ask and I'll get one drafted.
